Southern Boone Volleyball starts it’s District Tournament and post-season aspirations tonight. The Lady Eagles travel to California to take on the Capital City Lady Cavaliers in the 1st round of the Class 3 - District 10 tournament. The match is scheduled to start at 7 pm with the other 1st round match being Eldon versus Osage at 6 pm. Districts is being held at California High School this year.

Southern Boone finds themselves in one of Class 3 toughest Districts. No other District in Class 3 has three teams with 24 or more wins coming into the tournament. Leading this tough bracket is the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons. The Lady Falcons are 23-2-0 and are the #1 seed in this gauntlet of a District. They are 6-1 against the field, with their lone loss being to Southern Boone in the Versailles tournament just over a week ago. Blair Oaks is hoping that being out of Helias’s district (they knocked out the Lady Falcons the last 4 years) will help them win their 1st District title since 2006. After starting the season 21-0 the Lady Falcons are 6-4 in their last 10 games of the season. They will play the winner of the Eldon-Osage game tonight on 10/30 at 5 pm.

The California Lady Pintos (24-6-3) are the #2 seed in the District. California is 6-2-1 against the tournament field, with both losses being against Blair Oaks. The tie came against Southern Boone in the Eldon Tournament. California won their last 6 games of the season and are 16-4-1 in the month of October. The Lady Pintos will take on the winner of the Southern Boone-Capital Cit game on 10/30 at 6 pm.

Our Southern Boone Lady Eagles (24-8-3) pulled down the #3 seed in this years District Tournament. The Lady Eagles are coming in hot as they are 16-3-1 in the month of October and are coming off their first ever tournament win in Versailles. Southern Boone is 3-5-1 against the teams in this District. Splitting it’s games against Blair Oaks, losing 2 and tying California once, splitting two with Eldon (the loss was in the Championship of the Eldon Tournament), losing to Osage in the regular season finale, and defeating Capital City in the Eldon Tournament. Southern Boone faces off against Capital City in the 1st Round of Districts tonight at 7 pm.

The Eldon Lady Mustangs (15-8-1) are the #4 seed in the tournament. Eldon is limping into District’s as losers of 5 of their last 6 matches after winning their own tournament earlier in the month. The Lady Mustangs are 3-5-0 against the teams in the District. They play Osage in the first round who defeated them in straight sets earlier in the year.

Osage Lady Indians (13-11-2) are the #5 seed in this District. The Lady Indians have won their last 4 matches coming into Districts but are just 5-5 over their last 10 matches of the season. They’ve been up and down all season but if they can get hot they can make some waves in this tough District Tournament. They take on Tri-County Conference Rival Eldon tonight at 6 pm.

The Capital City Lady Cavaliers (0-21-2) are competing in their first year of Volleyball and come into the tournament as the #6 seed. It’s been a tough year and a learning experience for the new school as they are win-less coming into Districts. Capital City has faced every team in this District except Blair Oaks. They have lost their last 9 matches coming into the post-season but are hoping their first win of the season and for the program can come at a big time. They play Southern Boone at 7 pm tonight.
